James advises on all aspects of banking law and specialises in real estate finance in the UK and Europe. He has worked on development and investment transactions, advising borrowers, banks, institutional investors, debt funds and other alternative lenders on senior and mezzanine positions across a full range of sectors including residential, retail, office, logistics, care homes and hotels.

From his time seconded to the CMBS teams of Barclays Capital and Credit Suisse and to the structured property finance team at Barclays Bank plc, James has a detailed knowledge of lender processes and requirements.

  • Advising borrower on £10m debt finance facilities for management buyout
  • Acting for alternative lenders on development financings (residential and mixed use) in London and the regions with an aggregate development value in excess of £150m
